Kate Garraway is set to host the sixth annual Probate Industry Awards, affectionately known as ‘The Probies’, on 18TH April 2024, in London. These awards celebrate excellence in various aspects of the probate industry, including forensic genealogy, probate law, and related services. The event will introduce new categories such as best probate lawyer, estate planning team, and technology provider. Attendance and participation have seen a significant increase from the previous year.
The Probies are renowned for highlighting touching human interest stories related to inheritance, family dynamics, and societal issues. This year, the focus will be on recognising the efforts of legal professionals and heir hunters who have assisted local authorities, often dealing with a large number of probate cases.
The event will be hosted by esteemed broadcaster Kate Garraway, known for her extensive career in British broadcasting. Geoffrey Odds of the International Association of Professional Probate Researchers and Genealogists (IAPPR) emphasises the importance of the Probies in shedding light on the diverse aspects of the probate industry.
